Letter from IPBIS Chair

The 4th IPBIS Conference promises to be a very exciting event!  Building on the success of our previous conferences in Liverpool, Rome and Belfast, IPBIS moves to North America for the first time. The programme chairs are putting together an information-packed programme that will give you the opportunity to discuss and hear about some of the most pressing and current topics in paediatric acquired brain injury (ABI).  As well as presenting novel research, our focus is on exploring practical ways to support young people with ABI on an ongoing basis and there will be information regarding innovative work being carried out around the world.

This will be a multi-disciplinary event for all those with an interest in improving outcomes for children, adolescents, and young adults with brain injury.  I want to encourage you to attend and to bring colleagues from your organisation so they too can benefit from engaging with experts in the field and the opportunity to establish new collaborations.  The New Yorker Hotel is a great venue located in the heart of New York City, the ideal place to bring family or friends to spend a few days with you in New York. The area has plenty to offer for the whole family.

Lastly, I want to express my personal thanks and appreciation to all members of the Planning Committee, the speakers, sponsors, and all those who submit abstracts.  I hope to be able to meet you all as you join us for a friendly and dynamic meeting in October.

Warm regards,

Carol Hawley
